Current Projects
Turkey
- PLS provided train-the-trainer professional development in classroom management and communication skills. Ultimately, all public school teachers in the country will receive this training.
- Lead trainers in Turkey have been trained in PLS’s coaching skills preparing them to coach the training cadre around the nation.
- The staffs at the ENKA and Darussafaka schools have completed coaching training.
- PLS designed a technology-based, standards-aligned suite of resource tools for educators. Visit the public site here: http://ekampus.orav.org.tr/
- The next step is to bring online programs to the teachers in Turkey.
Aruba
- PLS worked with the Pedagogical Institute of Aruba (I.P.A) to prepare a cadre of coaches to provide training to pre-service and in-service teachers in Aruba.
- In 2008, the Ministry of Education engaged Steve Barkley to offer a keynote address to all Aruba teachers as part of the launch of a new national education initiative.
